Hi everyone,
Thanks to everyone’s networking and generosity Silver went to her new foster-to-adopt home yesterday. She had been very ill for several days following her shelter spay but with the help of a catheter, fluids, lots of medication, a rotisserie chicken and some wonderful vets she eventually started eating enough to build up her strength and be allowed to go to her new home to recover fully. Cheryl, Silver’s new mom, is a dream come true. She clearly already loves Silver and wants to make her as happy as possible but she also understands that Silver needs to be given boundaries and structure. She introduced Silver to the entire home and waited patiently for Silver to sniff everything! By the time I left Silver hadn’t even glanced in my direction for at least ten minutes - she was too busy gazing at her new mom and trying to earn praise and treat rewards!
Silver has at least another week of recovery ahead of her before we can even look into training but I am confident that she’ll get the training she needs and become an even more perfect dog than she already is!
I am so grateful for everyone’s help. The vet bill was staggering and there’s no way I could have done any of it without all of your generous donations and supportive emails.
